1970 280SL “Pagoda” – 2600 miles
1970 automatic with hard-top, with stunning colour combination, ice-blue body and dark blue trim.
This car has just come out of a complete restoration from one of the most renown Pagoda restoration specialists, Silchester Garage, and since then has clocked 2,600 miles. The restoration included a full bare metal re-spray, the under seal has been stripped off, and repainted , and re-under sealed with a complete waxoil treatment, so the car has no rust at all and is fully protected against it going forward. The car was originally based in Dallas, Texas, so even before restoration it didn’t suffer from rust. The restoration also included new carpets, new leather trim, new soft-top, gearbox, engine and air-conditioning re-haul, new chromes, new suspension, new brakes, new chrome buckle seat belts matched with blue trim, new rubbers.
The engine is an “E” version of the 2.8l engine, which means it has a sharper camshaft enabling it to produce 185hp instead of the standard 170ch.The engine has gone through an extensive re-haul with a new cylinder head, new valves and new cylinder head gasket. All ancillaries have been checked and serviced.
So not only is the car in concourse condition, but is fully loaded with optional extras:

- 3rd jump seat with chrome buckle seatbelt matched with blue trim

The car drives very well and the automatic box is very smooth, everything in the car is fully functional and has been driven from London to the South of France where it is now without any issues.
